Simon is the practice founding director having set up the practice back in 2003 when he merged his existing client base with those of a local accountancy practice based in Malton. Recently Simon’s role changed, and he is now a Consultant to the practice, still providing support and advice to many of our diverse range of clients, new and old.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1990, Simon worked in industry as a Financial Controller to gain a front end and inside experience of how businesses operate, an experience he says was invaluable enabling him to give proactive commercial advice to his clients. A few years later, Simon joined a practice where he was able to assist his clients in a more practical and understanding way because of his time in industry.

Nowadays, Simon continues his involvement on the vision of the practice and actively assists his clients with all aspects of their financial needs.

When not working Simon enjoys a game of golf, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Mark became a director in December 2020 after previously fulfilling an associate director role for the last 12 months. He started working at Townsend Harrison in September 2014 joining as a trainee. Prior to this Mark studied at Northumbria University and in June 2014 obtained a degree in accounting. Mark became a member of the ACCA in February 2017 and obtained his practising certificate in October 2019.

Mark looks after a large portfolio of diverse clients and often is one of the first contacts with prospective new clients. He undertakes mainly bespoke work with clients such as advising on structure for company start-ups, tax efficient extraction from owner managed businesses and tax saving methods for individuals and businesses. He assists with the preparation of accounts and tax returns when needed. Mark is an expert in cloud based accounting products such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and KashFlow and can assist businesses with Making Tax Digital and transferring to digital financial record keeping.

Outside of work Mark enjoys family time with his wife, young daughter and son (and his two cats!). As a family they enjoy trips out and exploring new places. He also enjoys watching football and is a keen Man Utd supporter.

Jamie began working at Townsend Harrison in August 2017 as a trainee accountant, having already obtained his AAT qualifications prior to joining the practice. After completing his ACCA studies and becoming a member in March 2021, Jamie obtained his practicing certificate and became a director in June 2023.

Jamie looks after a diverse client portfolio, managing all aspects of accounts and tax services in addition to bespoke client requirements, with a strong underlying belief that all clients require support and advice tailored to their own unique circumstances.

Away from work, Jamie enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter, and keeps fit by regularly walking his 3 energetic Labradors! Jamie also holds a keen interest in watching and playing football.
